100 Thoughts on Pricing: Final Thought

Price for the future, not the past. It doesn't matter that it took 6 hours a month on average to manage sites the past 3 years, or merits and promos were a lot higher in 2023 than previous years, or inflation spiked the past couple years. What does matter- what's the site management process next year; what's the merit/promo budget next year; what's the inflation outlook next year (FYI- it's rapidly declining).

Most companies I work with are pricing out work to be performed over the next 1-5 years, so pricing needs to reflect how we expect to work more efficiently, use technology more productively, keep people compensated appropriately, and move the rock on profitability.

Price for the future, not the past.
